Only in winter

No, this is far more beautiful than laser show that normally you see during fun fair. This is what the famous "Northern Light" is all about. The picture only describes 5% of the feeling when do you see it live. It's relaxing, calming and stunning to see the light dances in the sky.
For those who are serious to catch this, you should come to sweden between September and October or March to April. This is a thing not to be missed if you are in Sweden during winter.

Hi Emma,

The pictures of the Northern lights are the most beautiful things I have seen since I use the Internet, apart from you of course.
Anyhow, we were waiting for them a couple of years ago here in Europe, too. I was in Ireland when one event was expected to extend all the way to Southern Europe, but I have no record that the event actually took place. For sure, there are reports in scientific journals according to which they were seen in Florida too. Still, I think the ones you get there are better, because yours are the latitudes that they belong to. transcience@tin.it

Thanks for the compliment. If that's the case, do come to Sweden and experience it at least once in your life time. ;-)

Thank you for your response to my comment, Emma. Yes, I'm sure I have to come to Sweden soon. Mind you, it's not that I couldn't see the Northern lights elsewhere in the Solar system, because they were seen on Saturn, Uranus and Neptune by the Voyager spacecraft, now crossing the termination shock, which is where the solar wind slows down dramatically because it bumps into interstellar material flying across the universe; the thing is that it is more expensive to get there than to Sweden, and I would not find beautiful girls like you there.

Hi Roberto,

You're absolutely right. There are bunch of pretty girls here, and I'm sure you won't regret if you come because we're friendly type people. See you!

Hi Emma,

Thank you for your response. I'll be reading your blog from now on because I think it keeps readers up-to-date with what happens in Sweden. I had a colleague from Sweden in my laboratory for a few months in London, and she was reasonably attractive, although, most strikingly she was so nice you wouldn't believe it. When she left, someone else in the lab bought a rose and left it on her bench, and there it stayed for days on end. Your blog is very nice and you can see it comes from a cultivated person, so it is a real pleasure to read it.
